The Magnolia Bakery Cookbook: Old-Fashioned Recipes from New York’s Sweetest Bakery
Jennifer Appel
This book is bad, very bad….for people on a diet that is! It’s actually an amazingly yummy book, just bursting with all the ‘bad’ stuff – butter, sugar, extra thick cream…but all so very yummy! These are all recipes for proper indulgence and not something that you’d want to make all the time for fear of bringing on an early heart attack, although there’s probably worse ways to go than death by cake. (Cake or death anyone)? All the recipes are easy to follow and work perfectly.
The only disappointing thing about this book is that there are very very few pictures. I’m sure this won’t matter to some people but I always like to know what the cake I’m making should end up looking like.
